Yangon

The city is the Capital of Myanmar is an amalgamation of British, Burmese, Chinese and Indian influences, and is known for its colonial architecture Although suffering from some neglect, it remains an almost unique example of a 19th-century British colonial capital.

A developing city, Yangon remains the most exotic of all Southeast Asian cities. Take a walk down a typical street and enjoy the experience. Commercial and traffic signs are written mostly in local alphabet, Wandering monks in burgundy robes and numerous gilded pagodas are dotted around the city as you would expect in this Buddhist country. The most revered and spectacular of all the attractions in Yangon is the Shwedagon Pagoda which was built in the time of the Buddha himself and remains the primary place to visit by locals and tourists alike.
