Those wanting to find out about Vietnam's flora and fauna will find a trip to Nam Cat Tien National Park to be a rewarding experience. Located 160 km from Ho Chi Minh City, Nam Cat Tien is reported to have 600 varieties of plants, 240 types of birds and 50 species of mammals, including the one-horn Javan rhinoceros, one of several endangered mammals from Vietnam listed in the World Red Book.
It is a four-hour drive to the national park from Ho Chi Minh City. Once you cross the river, you’ll enjoy a walk through the jungle as you discover the diversity of Nam Cat Tien's wildlife. There's also an animal watch by jeep and a boat ride on the Cocrodile Lake. Accommodation is at the Cat Tien Jungle Lodge, which is inside the park and facing the Dong Nai River.

- A difference itself
You will be picked up at 8 am from your hotel and set off for the 4 hour drive north to Nam Cat Tien National Park. The Park was established in 1998 and is actually comprised of two separate areas, Nam Cat Tien and Cat Loc, which are linked by the Dong Nai River. Together they cover around 185,000 acres of evergreen rainforest which are home to and amazing array of flora and fauna.
Arriving around 12 am, you will enter the park. The staff of Cat Tien Jungle Lodge will welcome you and take you to the resort. After check in, you will have lunch at the restaurant of the Cat Tien Jungle Lodge, which faces the river and jungle.
At 2 pm, your guide will meet you at the reception area for a walking tour into the jungle to discover the plant and animal life. Next, you will have free time to explore on your own, go biking of just relax.
At 7 pm, you will have dinner in the restaurant at the center of the park. After the dinner you will have a private jeep take you for an hour of animal watching before returning for an overnight stay at the lodge.
Rising early to the sounds of the forest, you will have breakfast before meeting your driver at 7:30. You will leave for a trip to Bau Sau or Crocodile Lake. The jeep takes you 20 minutes (10km) from the lodge to the trekking point, where you will start a 1 hour trek for about 5 km.
Bau Sau is a beautiful lake surrounded by the jungle and home to many crocodiles. You will board your boat and paddle around the lake for an hour. You’ll have the chance to see birds, crocodiles, wild lotus before heading back to lodge for lunch. At 2 pm you will commence your return journey to Ho Chi Minh City where you will arrive at 6 pm.
